Dr. Marcie Dudeck, C. Psych Dr. Marcie Dudeck obtained her Ph.D. and M.A. in Clinical Psychology at Concordia University. She received her clinical training at the Royal Ottawa Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital (Montreal), as well as at a range of clinical settings in Montreal. Dr. Dudeck's primary theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She has a particular interest in the application of CBT to the treatment of adults struggling with anxiety disorders (e.g., chronic worry/generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder) and depression. She also has experience and interest in working on a variety of other psychological issues including assertiveness training, perfectionism, low self-esteem, and stress management. Dr. Dudeck's approach, individually tailored to her clients, provides an empathic and collaborative atmosphere where her clients work on achieving their treatment goals and overcoming obstacles to change. Dr. Dudeck is a registered clinical psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) and maintains memberships in a number of professional associations.
Dr. Nicola Fitzgerald, C. Psych
Dr. Niki Fitzgerald completed her PhD in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor, where she also earned her Master's degree. She trained in both Canada and the United States, including the State University of New York - Upstate Medical University, Detroit Receiving Hospital, the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto, as well as various organizations in the Windsor area. She has worked at the Psychological Trauma Program/Work, Stress, and Health program since 2006 where she is involved in assessment, treatment, and supervision of students and interns. Dr. Fitzgerald has worked in a number of therapeutic orientations, including cognitive behavioural, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and experiential. She is a certified diplomate of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy. She is actively involved in her professional association as she sits on the Board of Directors of the Ontario Psychological Association. Dr. Fitzgerald is a licensed member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO), and a member of various professional organizations including the Canadian, American, and Ontario Psychological Associations, (CPA, APA, and OPA), as well at the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies (ISTSS). Dr. Fitzgerald's primary areas of clinical interest are depression and anxiety and understanding the patterns that maintain these problems in living. Dr. Ricardo Flamenbaum, C. Psych Dr. Ricardo Flamenbaum completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Queen's University. He received his clinical training at St. Joseph's Health Care, Regional Mental Health Care - London and London Health Sciences Centre, South Street Hospital, and at various sites in Kingston, Ontario. Dr. Flamenbaum has been trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as well as interpersonal and psychodynamic approaches, and has had several years of experience working with adults with a range of anxiety disorders, depression, interpersonal difficulties and stress-related problems. His research focuses on psychological factors (e.g., hopelessness, psychological pain) associated with suicide, and he is particularly interested in understanding the role of personality factors and interpersonal patterns in contributing to and maintaining psychological difficulties.
Dr. Laurel Gordon, C.Psych Dr. Laurel Gordon obtained her Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto, where she also earned her Master's degree. She received her clinical training at the Toronto General Hospital, St. Michael's Hospital, the University of Toronto Counselling and Learning Skills Service, and at The Clinic on Dupont. Dr. Gordon's primary theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with adults. Her collaborative and empathic approach is guided by attention to therapeutic process and to individual client needs. Her primary areas of clinical interest are mood and anxiety disorders, loss and bereavement, interpersonal and adjustment difficulties, as well as understanding the underlying patterns that maintain these problems in living.
Dr. Lorena Hsu, C.Psych (Supervised Practice) Lorena Hsu completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of British Columbia. She has received clinical training at the University of British Columbia Hospital and St. Paul's Hospital in Vancouver, and completed an internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic and the Psychological Trauma Program. Lorena has been trained primarily in cognitive behavioural therapy with adults, and has worked with both individuals and groups in a variety of settings. Her primary areas of clinical interest include anxiety and depression, trauma, stress management, relationship issues, and chronic pain. Lorena's research interests include understanding cultural differences in the expression of anxiety disorders. Dr. Noah Lazar, C. Psych (supervised practice) Dr. Noah Lazar completed his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Western Ontario, and his clinical residency training at St. Joseph's Healthcare, Hamilton. In addition, he has also trained at Regional Mental Health Care -London, London Health Sciences Centre, and various other sites in London, Ontario. Dr. Lazar's primary theoretical orientation is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy with adults. In order to tailor this approach to the needs of each client, he also draws on other therapeutic approaches, including interpersonal psychotherapy, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, and schema-focused therapy. He has several years of experience working with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, chronic pain and psychosis, as well as with interpersonal, adjustment and stress-related difficulties. His primary research interest is in the integration of biological and cognitive models of psychopathology. Dr. Sandra Lecce, C. Psych Dr. Sandra Lecce completed Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology at the University of Toronto. She received clinical training at the Interpersonal Therapy Clinic - Mood and Anxiety Program at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, Markham-Stouffville Family Life Centre, OISE/UT Counselling & Psychoeducational Clinic, and York University Counselling & Development Centre. Sandra is trained in Cognitive-Behavioural Thrapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. She has several years of experience working with adults who have struggled with depression, anxiety, interpersonal difficulties and other related problems. Dr. Lecce's area of research interests include the relationship between adult attachment and congitive-affective processing, the development of more effective emotiona regulation skills aimed to enhance intrapersonal and interpersonal functioning. Dr. Andrea Peterman, C. Psych
Dr. Andrea Peterman completed her Masters' degree in Personality Psychology at the University of Western Ontario and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She has received training at the Mood Disorders Program, The Anxiety Treatment and Research Centre, and the Eating Disorders Program at St. Joseph's Healthcare (Hamilton, Ontario). In addition, she has also trained in the Anxiety Disorders Clinic at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH; Toronto, Ontario). Dr. Peterman's training experiences have included both individual and group interventions for a range of anxiety disorders (e.g., panic attacks, social anxiety, chronic worrying, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and post traumatic stress disorder) depression, and eating disorders. She has a particular interest in the application of CBT to the treatment of adults and late adolescents struggling with anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and interpersonal difficulties. Dr. Peterman's research interests include intimacy in interpersonal relationships and the sexual health.
Dr. Samantha Waxman, C. Psych
Dr. Waxman completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Queen's University. She received clinical training in providing psychological assessments and treatment at The Ottawa Hospital on the maternal fetal medicine, gynecological oncology, HIV, respiratory rehabilitation, and neuromuscular services. She has also worked at several sites in Kingston, including Providence Care Mental Health Services; Queen's Psychology Clinic; Health, Counseling and Disability Services at Queen's University; and The Regional Assessment and Resource Centre. Dr. Waxman's primary theoretical orientation is CBT; however, she draws on other empirically supported treatment approaches including interpersonal psychotherapy and emotion-focused therapy. Her areas of specialization include mood and anxiety disorders, stress-related difficulties, interpersonal issues, sexual dysfunction, and management of chronic illness/disability. Her Masters' research explored the relationship between chronic low back pain and psychological and relationship factors, and her PhD research focused on measuring women's sexual arousal using laser Doppler imaging to further explore the relationship between the subjective and physiological components of arousal. |
